What up! Welcome to the about me. This allllll about Eric. The wonderful weirdo you’re considering hiring to photograph you (or maybe you already have and you just want to brush up on who I am again).
Oh boy where to start? To paraphrase a few people I admire (Maya Angelous, David Lynch, Rick Rubin, Wynton Marsalis, Brian Tracy, Sir Ian McKellan, etc.): WE ARE ALL ARTISTS. Every time you make a decision (or when your body makes a decision your brain didn’t), you have made an artistic lasting impact on this planet. And I thank you for doing so. An extra shake of salt, a brush of the hair, swinging the bat, all of it. ART!
If you are reading this then you are likely an artist, or a BIG TIME appreciator of the fact that you can do something the way it has always been done… or you can do something different. That’s my approach. I’m always looking for an intention that brings harmony and voice to an image. I seek to elevate from a “nice” photo, to something that makes us all glad we were all there when we were so that it was memorialized forever.
On a photo shoot or wedding day, I show up as a friend that cares about you as people first. How your day was, when was your last big win. I’ll slap five. I’ll say something silly like “dance over to that point” or “SHOW ME how you’re feeling”. It always varies and it’s always a little different than I’ve ever done it before. You are unique and beautiful and you have a wonderful purpose on this planet, and I am there catch it.
Personally, I live in the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. That’s near Morehead City, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle. Also the Outer Banks, Wilmington and Jacksonville, NC to name a few. I’m enjoying the beaches, the hospitality, the food, the music, the fighter jets flying overhead, and once more THE PEOPLE! Life is always good and always optimistic and positive — as I say “it’s sure better than the alternative!”
